Having some Issues - Won't Start

Good morning,

So a garage mechanic friend of ours helped us out when our 05 civic EX needed to have the water pump replaced (replaced water pump, timing belt, head gasket, head shaved, and valves done, later by a local head shop not ourselves since already in there).

Everything is back together and hunky doory. Go to start the car, car is turning but wont start. Hook it up and we are getting a P0113 code for the IAT sensor. Now we both know the IAT won't cause the car 'not to start'. We are chasing things and looking for some fresh ideas. Any one out there experience this or have some ideas where we need to look.

Thanks in advance.

the first thing i would be doing is pulling the timing cover off and checking the belt and timing marks, is the belt loose? did it jump time? do the timing marks line up properly?

Did the camshaft position sensor get plugged back in? Possibly bent a pin in the connector?

Mike,

Thanks for the reply. One of the first things we did.

test compression, test spark, test for fuel delivery,

the engine wont start without any of those things......

Re: Having some Issues - Won't Start

Hey Mike, some of the first things we did. We replaced the camshaft position sensor last night. The green immobilizer light does blink when you put the key in the ignition but it goes away. I can't remember if it did this before or not (I'm sure it did). Buddy thinks that the key code may have demagnetized because the battery was undone for over a week. Calling today to get the brake code to see if that's the issue.

i would highly doubt that,

you performed major repairs and now the car will not start, odds are it has something to do with the work performed,

if it was an imobilizer issue i dont think you would be getting a spark and/or fuel, but you say you are ?

On 7th gens, immobilizer light flash is normal operation.

Agree, double check your work closely.
