where is the VECI label on 2004 Civic?

where is the VECI label on 2004 Civic?
I just bought an '04 Civic LX that had been in a front-end collision and I am not seeing the VECI label to see what the Engine Family Number is.

Where should I be looking if it is still present?

the engine code is stamped on the front of the block left of the exhaust manifold

Can you please be more specific?
I only see a number that starts with a D on a flat area to the left of the exhaust manifold and does not look anything like the numbers the cat supply place told me to look for.
