Rattle Rattle Rattle

Hey, so my honda civic, (2001 lx automatic with 93k miles) rattles a lot when I place it into Drive and reverse. When i accelerate it also begins this loud rattling noise that sounds like it's coming from the motor, more towards the drivers side. I haven't really bothered to investigate it fully yet, but I just wanted to see if anyone knows some possible things to look for.

Thanks.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

No, I've checked that, I've got just the right amount of oil and it's only about 2,000 miles old.

You're gonna have to investigate more about where the source is, it's awful tough to guess at this over the internet LOL

Driver's side rattle, eh?
Hmm. I'm presuming there's no rattle while in neutral/park.

Is your catalytic converter situated in your exhaust manifold?
Is so, then it could be plausible that the core is broken or severely fractured ergo rattling under load.
Find your catalytic converter and give it a whack with the side of your fist to see if you get a familiar rattle.

I actually have a broken catalytic core in my Civic and definitely causes a metallic rattle (rocks in a can) when starting off or backing up in very low RPMs, but every broken core may rattle differently.
The catalytic converter on mine is not part of the exhaust manifold and resides underneath the car right under the gear shifter area.
