04 civic dx "insufficient air flow"

So I have a 2004 honda civic dx with a 1.7 liter engine. I put a newer stock engine in (1.7l) that was from a 2002 honda civic and ever since I did iv had my check engine light on for "insufficient air flow" egr valve. I changed it 3 different times, once with a used one and 2 other times with a brand new one from dealer. Im just wondering if its on because the engine I put in is from a 2002 and not a 2004? Or if there is anything else that might need to be done in order to correct the problem.
If anybody has a info I would appreciate it.

Re: 04 civic dx "insufficient air flow"

The problem is not the EGR valve, the problem is the passage is blocked between the valve and the intake manifold.

If you did a swap, did you get use your original intake manifold/injector plate/intake gaskets?

In 2002, it looks like only the EX engine had an EGR system. DX and LX did not have it.
In 2004 it looks like all versions had EGR.

The version of the engine without EGR will not have a hole in the intake manifold gasket for the EGR passage.

You probably just need to change the intake gasket to one that matches your original (one for an 02 EX or one for any 04, same part number) Or maybe reuse your original?
17055-PLD-004 is the Honda number shown in the catalog.
