Fuel Door / Trunk Lever

about 3 weeks ago my fuel door would not open using the interior lever, since then i have been opening it manually from inside the trunk by removing the big black piece that screws into the frame, and then screwing it back in to lock the door again,

today i tried to open the trunk using the interior lever and it would not open, i then tried to open up the fuel door using the lever, and to my amazement the fuel door now works! its like the problem has reversed all by itself,

i havnt had a chance to dive into this and take anything apart yet, wondering if this has happened to anybody else or heard of this happening

01-05 ??

If so,the metal crimp they use on the cables corrodes and can cause problems.

Look into fueldoorfix. Trunk may be another story.

Re: Fuel Door / Trunk Lever

I popped an FDF in place on the 05 before my daughter got it. You may have to pull the panels and have a look. I would suggest and FDF to any 01-05 owner (the new cable crimps are now brass), it will go on even if your gas door still opens.
