05 HCH Blower Motor Stuck On

first time posting, havent been able to locate a thread with my exact issue. I just took out the entire dash from my 05 Honda Civic Hybrid (automatic), replaced the heater core and the cabin air filters.

Everything else is fine EXCEPT the heater blower motor running non-stop. As soon as I turn the car on the blower kicks on, the Off-low-mid-hi switch doesnt change anything. the blower motor stays on no matter what and it isnt blowing air through the vents very well. I tried to look up the solution online... http://troubleshootmyvehicle.com/hon...esistor-test-2 on steps 2-5 here, where it should have showed a voltage reading of .4-.7 it wasnt picking anything up my multimeter stayed at 1. on step 5 it should have shown OL (open loop) and mine showed a voltage of ~./4.

this led to me replacing the Blower motor power transistor but i have the same issue. I have checked the fuses that the repair manual told me to check and there doesnt seem to be any issues. Would the relay for the blower motor in the engine compartment fuse box be the next thing to replace or does anyone know something else i can try?

first time posting,
Welcome to the forum.
Everything else is fine
You sure about that?

HVAC works in all modes, airflow changes, temperature changes according to where you set the controls?

and it isnt blowing air through the vents very well.
Everything is not fine. See how many different problems the HVAC has now.

No, because you said this:
As soon as I turn the car on the blower kicks on
Relay is doing its job properly.

the heater blower motor running non-stop

does anyone know something else i can try?
Perform the HVAC self diagnosis. See if any fault codes are indicated.

Thanks for the quick reply. That all makes sense. I will verify functionality with the controls tomorrow as far as the HVAC self diagnostics I'll see if I can find the steps to do that in the manual and update with the outcome

All of the other functions seem to work fine. If I have the vent set to Off, you can barely feel any air. When set to low/med/high etc, the air flow alternates like it should, all the upper vents are working, defrost, floor etc. Heater controls work as well, it is blowing cold, warm and hot. I am not sure what else to check now. I would say that maybe i missed a connection but having the blower motor stuck running wouldnt make sense if something was disconnected.

You mentioned an HVAC Self Diag test, I am not seeing any procedures for doing them... what do I need to do to do that?

Re: 05 HCH Blower Motor Stuck On

I'm confused by your wording here.

You said your car is a hybrid, right?

the Off-low-mid-hi switch doesnt change anything.
Firstly, it shouldn't have off-low-mid-high on the fan speed controls. It should have OFF, AUTO, then be variable between low and high.

When set to low/med/high etc, the air flow alternates like it should
You mean floor/dash/defrost? AUTO?

As soon as I turn the car on the blower kicks on,
What speed is the fan control set to at this time?
What speed is the blower fan running at this time?
Can you still control the blower fan speed with the dial on the dash?

You mentioned an HVAC Self Diag test, I am not seeing any procedures for doing them... what do I need to do to do that?
Check your service manual! https://www.civicforums.com/forums/1...e-updated.html

Begin with the key OFF.

Turn the fan **** to OFF
Hold down the RECIRC and ECON buttons
Turn the ignition switch to ON (do not start the engine)
Let go of the 2 buttons

Recirc button lights up and goes out in like 2 seconds, then AC light comes on....then shortly (maybe 10 seconds) the self test finishes and AC light goes out.
If there are codes the recirc light will now blink a code number.
