Rep Power: 131 door latch cable ideas
So here's the story, bought a '02 EX 5 speed back in October. Apparently the PO had to get different door locks or something at some point. The key that I have will start the car and open the trunk; but it doesn't operate the door locks. I just use the key fob to lock and unlock the car.
The only problem, obviously, is that if the battery dies then I'm locked out of the car. I was thinking of getting a door latch cable and running it from the rear passenger door to the trunk. This way if the battery dies I could pop the trunk, pull the cable, and boom I'm back in the car.
I was just trying to brain storm and see if anyone had any ideas how to do this or if there is something different that I can do that also works. Thanks for the input!

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: door latch cable ideas
Open trunk
Pull rear seatback release
Push seatback forward
Crawl through (or send a kid in to unlock it)
Or you could maybe just fix the door locks the right way.
Shoot some penetrating oil into them, see if they free up.
Someone changing only 2 door locks doesn't sound logical to me.... they are probably stuck from lack of use.

go idea to lube up the door lock. The front doors are the only ones with a key hole. The back doors just have handles.
