My horn doesn't sound right anymore. Did I overuse it?
I'm very heavy on my horn, I honk every 10 seconds at people and have already worn through the horns on both of my parents' vehicles when I was younger. A month ago I was using my horn and as I hit it, it changed tone and now sounds very weak and a different tone. Is it dead? How do I fix it?
I have a hookup at the dealership so I can get a new horn for $50 but I'm wondering if it's the horn that needs replacing. How do I tell? Is there some sort of control unit or fuse I should be replacing instead?

If the fuse were to blow, you wouldn't get any sound at all from the horn.
You have nearly killed this horn. Buy a new one.

I think I've only used my horn twice in the last 11 years with this car. Both times because somebody was about to back up in to me for a parking spot and weren't paying attention about what's behind them. It's been lit off more times for "super" locking then anything else.

^^^ Hey, I posted it once and got quoted so lighten up.
Those crappy horns ARE a fvcking joke.
The fit gets a better horn than the Civic.
If my horn relay was not integrated into MICU I would be rocking the gm dual horns that I own.

The stock horn is pretty thin compared to the Accords (and in a different location) Some folks have had water get into Accord style horns mounted to Civics.
Not sure about connectors compatibility.
