01 Honda Civic - Power Window Issue

Hello all,

I've read the other threads about power window issues but my situation is a bit different. My master switch burned out the passenger side and the fuse. I got a new switch from ebay from a (seemingly) reputable master switch seller. I changed the fuse and plugged it up. Now, my passenger side window works but the driver side is not working. All of the fuses are fine.

The only issues I can imagine is that it is either a shoddy replacement part or maybe the relay/connector is burned up. I don't know how to check or test connectivity but any insight or ideas would be greatly appreciate. Thanks in advance.

In Honda we trust.

I saw the pix of your toasted master switch, and the connector should be fine.... testing the drivers side at the master switch is a tough one. The schematics are on the site and I can do a pdf printer once I get to the house of the test procedures.

Sedan correct ??

ebay........ master switch seller.
Is this a nice way of saying "junkyard"?
Now, my passenger side window works but the driver side is not working.
Put the old switch back in. (if it won't blow the fuse now) Does the drivers window work? (Yes: Bad used switch.)

Re: 01 Honda Civic - Power Window Issue

Thanks for the quick reply, guys!

CW: Yes its a sedan. Thanks for the schematics, I don't know how to test though; I'll look out for your reply.

ezone: I got it from an ebay seller and their website is www.switchdoctor.net. I'm considering returning it but i don't want to if it's not necessary. I would like to put the old switch in to test but it burnt to a crisp the passenger side switch as well as the window lock. I tried to clean it and tinker with it but to no avail.

I agree with using the old switch as a test...pull the fuse for the passenger window before connecting it.

http://ww43.switchdoctor.com/ was the first link given, apparently it's not the correct link.

http://www.switchdoctor.net/ is now bookmarked. I had no idea....
