Broken Trip Odometer & Maintenance Required
Broken Trip Odometer & Maintenance Required
I own the Civic 2002 DX with 100,000. Great car but the trip odometer button no longer workers. I don't care about keeping track of trips but I'm stuck with a constant Maintenance Required light. Very annoying. Anyway to turn off this light either for the oil change period or permanently.

Try putting slight upwards pressure on button while pusing it in (works for my button).
If that's does not work try downward pressure.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Black tape LOL. And then an oil change reminder sticker on the windshield.
Re: Broken Trip Odometer & Maintenance Required
Thanks for the suggestions. I tried putting slight upwards and downwards pressure without success but I greatly appreciate the input. I'm not quite ready for the black tape so if anyone has any other ideas, please pass them along.
