My mechanic came to replace my transmission yesterday and along the way he broke some kind of sensor. Right now he doesn't know what sensor it is or how much it costs to replace...I have a 2001 Civic Lax 4door..does anyone what what it could be?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Somewhere between $200 and $1,000,000 might cover it.
I can't even believe you posted this.

Btw get a new mechanic.
OP: take the good sensor or whatever it is from the old (or new) trans, whichever still has a good one. Clean it up if necessary and swap it.

To EVERYONE!! I posted this because I'm no car guru! I thought maybe there were only a couple of sensors that it could be and maybe SOMEONE could say it may could be an XYZ sensor or a 123 sensor. Especially someone who has taken out a transmission for a 2001 Civic and KNOW what sensor(s) come before it is all over. The smart comments are funny but c'mon guys. Lol
I just wanted some feedback before I went to get it checked out tomorrow. Sheesh

You may as well have called the doctors office and yelled that "SOMETHING HURTS!!!" and hung up the phone.
Seriously. Read your own first post and try to figure out why you didn't get any help.
We aren't freekin' psychic.

If you took it to an even somewhat reputable/decent mechanic he will replace that sensor out of his pocket not yours since he broke it while doing another job.
