New guy here, this site is awesome lots of info here! Okay so heres my problem thursday as i was leaving my house i drove off and after only driving about 200ft i heard a sound coming from under the hood. It sounded like something that was spinning was stuck and was quickly slowing down, i could hear the noise from when it started till it slowed down, then my car shut off while moving and has not started up again since then. I have power coming from the battery and when i turn the key to start my engine it sounds like the starter is trying to start up the car but it wont fire up. At first i thought i blew my timing belt but after looking at it yesteday that doesnt seem to be the problem it looks fine. The car is an automatic, 1.7l engine, i believe its a civic ex im not positive since i could never find this on the cars tags.
What could have caused my car to do this?
What should i look for or take a look at first?

Are you getting any check engine lights? What sound is the starter making when you try to start it?

No engine light is not on. the starter sounds normal, it doesn't seem to be lacking power. I also have a battery i just purchased about 6 months ago im not sure if this makes a difference.
