Headlight is messed up
Headlight is messed up
Help! I was clearing out my headlights and my friend was helping me, well when he was taking apart the headlight he got some black adhesive on the inside part of the lens, and decided to try to clean it with ACETONE! He did it without telling me and tried to give me some BS.
The headlight lens is smeared on the inside from the ACETONE, What can I do to get the smear off?? I tried everything but it looks like it is smeared for good. There's gotta be something I can do!

This is easy...
Simply use WD-40 or bug & tar remover when reopning the headlight again.
Well, I dunno what ACETONE is... but I know that the black sealant is something that will NEVER completely dry. However I cannot tell you what it'll do to the lens... but I know it can be removed.
I tried sealing my headlight (stupidly) with GOOP. Don't ever, ever, ever use GOOP. The fumes from the goop are away at the lens permanently making them look like the headlight was fogged in certain places. It sucked ***... but now I have new headlights.

Well it is nail polish remover basically. It is the slightest bit stonger but it does the job. Anyhow Acetone and nail polish remover alike will eat plastic. So you are kinda SOL on that one. You will need to either live with it or you will have to buy a new assembly sorry man.
