Parking Break Fix (PLEASE HELP)

Hi, on my parking braek, the plastic tip disappeared and i have no idea where to buy one unless if i buy the whole parking brake. i really don't want to waste $35 for a whole new parking break. does anyone know what this little plastic thing is called and where i can buy it? Thanks

This is a wildazz guess:
If the button was round, it was probably threaded on. Try a chunk of round wooden dowel, drill a hole up the center, see if it will thread on to the little rod in the center of the handle.

In the parts catalog, I had to go back to 95 and earlier to find a button sold separately

Another thought: Is the button MISSING, or has the outer handle cover slipped forward and covered it up?

oh its my fault for not explaining clearly. its not the actual button, but the plastic tip that covers the button. here is a picture of mine and what it looks like...
