D indicator flashing
D indicator flashing
Hi. I own a 2004 Civic, A/T, 1.5 litre. The car is in reasonable shape, with about 48,000 miles on it. I was getting the air conditioner serviced today when I noticed that the D light was flashing. I turned off the engine and started it again, and the light has not flashed since. Should I be worried? From what I gather on this forum, this is probably a transmission problem. The car is running fine for now, do I still need to get it checked?
Also, what indicators are supposed to come up when I turn the key to ON. I never noticed before, but the green D light comes up for a few seconds when I switch the key to ON. Is that normal?
Thanks for your help!

Re: D indicator flashing
D light flashing means there was a trans related problem detected and there was a code set in the transmission control section of the PCM.
If you want to know what the PCM found wrong, you will have to get the code(s) read.
Yes it is normal for the D light to come on as a bulb check with the rest of the dash lights when you turn the key on.
