Cool VSA Cluster Location and replacement

I have a Honda Type-S 2005 Civic (2Ltr) Petrol. Codes seem to point to the Yaw rate sensor and VSA cluster being faulty (Lights for VSA and ! on continuously on dash. Where are these located on car? Are they easy to change?

Re: VSA Cluster Location and replacement

I'm in the USA.
Not sure I can help, but this is what I have:
Our cars didn't get that in 05. Looks like the earliest I can find info for that was 07, and it shows removing the center console trim to reach the sensor set. It appears to be on top of the hump (shifter tunnel), and under the heater housing.

After the sensor is replaced, you have to do a "neutral position learn procedure", and that uses the HDS scantool.
I really don't know what (if any) non-factory scantools can access these functions.
No other manual method is given, so you may need to have a dealership do this.
Very few independent shops will have made the investment in a dealer level scantool for this sort of work.

Re: VSA Cluster Location and replacement

Thank you Ezone. There are so many civics with this fault in the UK. Honda will not acknowledge the problem however. The charge for the repair is about %u00A31700, which is crazy. It's making a lot of cash for Honda dealer repairers though. Honda (local) diagnosed the fault and charged %u00A375. They charged double the normal fee as the module was hard to get at - seats had to be taken out etc. I have located a second hand unit for %u00A391, hence wanting to know where unit was so as to check part no. Thanks again

Sent a letter to Honda UK again.
They are repairing these faults in USA for free if car falls into certain category. (mine did)
Not so over here in UK. Honda UK flately refused any help at all. Put Civic in Part EX. for smaller car.
Had enough.
