New Fuel Pump and still lack of power and bogging down engine!!

Hey guys new to this site. help greatly appreciated. i hav an 02 civic with a 1.7L vtec engine around 135,xxx miles. it had been actin up so i replaced the fuel pump and strainer and also the filter. car ran awesome for about 2 days then started actin up da same way. realy hesitant under wide open throttle and the engine boggs down realy bad. in the mornings it fires up realy good and after lik 7 seconds it starts shakin really bad like its missing in a couple cylinders and sumtimes stals out.
What could be my problem/problems??
What could i chek to fix it??
Oh and its bringin up a P0171B code also.
any help is greatly appreciated.. im tired of all des headaches!!

Not 100% sure what that code is for but i thought it was for the engine running lean? If so i would start by cleaning the 02 sensor at the CAT. Could be various of other things like the pressure regulator but doubt it.

P0171 is lean.
A fuel pressure test would probably be the first step in solving the problem, not guessing randomly.

Got any of the fuel lines pinched or kinked?

Ill take off the o2 sensor tonite and clean it up a bit

how could i chek for pressure? i dont think these cars hav that schrader valvle do they?? but ill chek for kinked or bent lines today also.. thanks guys!!

Fuel pressure: I have adapters that insert into the plastic fuel line couplers.


How on earth does anyone "clean" an O2 sensor, and exactly what is hoped to be gained from this exercise?

where can I get ahold of some of those adapters??

well that guy said to clean it so I figured take it off and spray some brake clean in it or sumthing....

A tool supplier? IDK if one of the parts stores would have something like that to rent to you.

My question was aimed at the one that said it, not you. I hope it made you think though.

so i was able to get some adapters to check for pressure and my pressure was all out of whack!! i had barely installed a new fuel pump so i kind of check it off as being the problem.. a buddy of mine said that my pressure regulator was at fault so i went and bought one at napa and installed it and that finally fixed my problem!! car runs awesome now!! thanks alot guys for your help!!
