grinding noise when turning the steering wheel?

their is a video of the sound i get.

i have not done any mods to the car everything is stock.

the sound comes and goes. any ideas of what might be causing this?

Where the PS lines capped right and was there fluid left in the rack? If not, you probably need a new rack due to buildup of debris. And be sure to fill it with fluid then cap the lines securely.

EDIT: Sorry. By fluid I mean PS fluid. It also acts a lubricant.

I would also inspect the ball-joint, tie-rod end and the bushings

It could be so many things you really need to get under there and check it.

By the sound of it once you jack it up and do that movement it should be obvious.
