Location of VTECH pressure switch

A few weeks back my check engine light came on. I took the car into a mechanic who said it was something like low oil pressure and that he recommended cleaning some sort of screen. (I don't recall the details now). When I left, the light was off, and he said if it comes back on, to come back in, it was prolly something else (he said what but I don't recall.)

Well now the light came on again. I took it to AutoZone to save myself the $99 diagnosis fee and they said it was a P2646 which is low oil, open or short circuit, or failed VTECH pressure switch.

The failed switch sounds familiar to what the mechanic had said might be the other possible cause.

So, finally, my question is, where is the VTECH pressure switch on a 2005 Honda Civic HX? I read it is on top of the VTECH solenoid, but I don't know where that is either. A far away picture of the engine and it's location would be great.

I have changed breaks, air filters, tires etc, but am by no means mechanical. Is this a pretty simple thing to fix? If I have to take the engine out, then the answer is no. :-)

Thank you in advanced for your help!!!

Re: Location of VTECH pressure switch

Can you turn a wrench? lol.. There's all of 3 bolts holding the vtec solenoid to the cylinder head.

Actually, post #2 of the thread MindBomber posted up shows you that it's all of 3 bolts holding it on. Step 4, "B" on the diagram is the solenoid valve filter.
