01 Lx Cranks But Wont Start
01 Lx Cranks But Wont Start
I've had issues on and off with this car since I got it 4 years ago, but with that being said I've put over 100,000 miles on it (currently around 205) on the odometer.
I think the problem started with a misfire in one of the cylinders (i dont have a scanner so now way to tell). For a couple days it would start up rough(belts squeal on start up, maybe a sign?), i'd give it a little gas and it would smooth out. But now it wont start at all. Sounds like it almost stalls out when I try to crank it over. I've read a lot of helpful suggestions and will try to gather more feedback, but out of desperation I ask if anyone has any suggestions throw em at me. I plan on removing the spark plugs as soon as my lady gets off work and returns with an extension for the socket. I've got a relatively new starter, battery, brand new alt. The battery has plenty of juice, I just can't get the sucker to turn over. I've had reoccuring internal headgasket leaks but my fluid loss was still minimal. Is there anyway to test a CKP without removing the timing cover? Thank you in advance for your time.

If it's the cps sensor you should have a code stored in the ecu, but it won't always throw a code. replacing it would probably be my first move, even though it's a major pain. Remember to use lock tight if you replace it.

Thanks for the advice. I actually got it started back up by replacing the number 1 spark plug. The tube seal has begun to leak and compromised the spark, but it's running at least lol. Thank you once again.
