Exclamation Speedometer/Tachometer/Gas Guage/Cruise Control Not working, please help

2002 Honda Civic LX 4-dr

I've searched and searched for what could be the reason for my problems and I can't seem to find for sure what the issue would be. My speedo, tach, gas gauge, heat gauge have all stopped working. At first it was intermittent but now they are all but dead. And when one went they all went. Also the backlight in the gauge cluster doesn't work. And the tripmeter and odometer also go out when the cluster isn't working. However the check engine light and other warning signs continue to function correctly. Also the cruise doesn't work.

The previous owner did a lot of bad working to this civic trying to make it "nicer". However I have torn this dash apart countless times and can not find any shorts or broken wires. There is a green (approx. 12 pin) plugin under the dash that I cant seem to find a place to plug in, is this normal?

Otherwise, might my cruise and gauge problem be connected?
Is there are relay blown I just can't find?
Bad VSS?
Bad cluster?

Have you checked your fuses? There are a couple of fuses that run a lot of different things. Is your battery light on? There is a fuse for that under your dash, I believe it's a 10A

As far as that "extra" harness, that shouldn't be normal...Are you sure you have all the harnesses plugged into the right plugs?
