Angry Civic 04: Weird noise appeared after engine mount(s) replaced

Car: Honda Civic 04 SE(Special Edition), Manual transmission.
Hi everyone,
I just joined this forum so I'm all new to this and sorry if this thread might already exist somewhere. I searched but found nothing similar to my problem.

Alright, here's the deal, after a bit of an inspection, I found that the front engine mount was destroyed, and so are the transmission and rear. But I decided to replace the front one first. After the installation, I started the car and put it in first, then released the clutch, the engine was a bit more firm than before. However, after playing a bit with the clutch, I heard a cracking noise, like something was being unbolted or something, it didn't do all the time. At first I thought it was the other mount, but it seems more like a noise metal to metal.

Then, I took it for a drive, and it started doing more and more. It does it when driving on bumps/ speed bumps. It's been becoming more and more noticeable, and the more I drive, the looser it sounds. It does in neutral, and also when shifting. When starting and turning of the car, I hear it too, it's vibrating when turning off and when starting, I feel like it's hitting something.

My car is all stock, no exhaust mods, no cold air intake, no strut bar.
Oh and also, one more important detail, I didn't replaced the others mounts, but I blocked the mounts from moving too much (Put some pieces of wood inside the mount). I thought it was the mounts that were causing that noise, but I was wrong. Now it's worse, it's like it's almost on its way to be totally unbolted, that's how I can describe it. Another important thing it's that it seems to be coming from the driver side, near the firewall and beneath the car since I can't hear it (very low) when I pop the hood, but inside the car, I can clearly hear it.

So that's what I'm going through right now, it's really annoying and I don't want to drive it too much because I don't know what can happen.

Any feedback on this would be really appreciated =)

Thank you in advance.

Thank You for responding.
But honestly I don't thing there's anything wrong with my tranny, it shifts really great, doesn't grind, no unusual vibration in the gear shifter.
The noise is coming from the driver side, which is the opposite side of the tranny.

When I think of it, I think the noise was already there before I changed the front mount, but really less noticeable, but because the mount was replaced, the engine no longer moves that much and it would seem the engine vibration has nowhere to go and that's why it's starting to make that noise.

I'm just trying to clarify what I notice.
Btw, thank you for your input.
Greatly appreciated.
Any other feedback ?

Well, seems nobody has any answers for this xD
Fortunately, I found the problem, I kind of feel ashamed of saying it, but it's for the sake of others if they run into a similar problem.

The noise was coming from the Front Engine mount, it was simply not tighten enough, so the bolt was coming loose as I thought.

After tightening it, no power noise, engine feels much more firm when shifting.

Re: Civic 04: Weird noise appeared after engine mount(s) replaced (SOLVED)

That is true.
That is why I wanted to share it.
Although nobody seemed to be concerned about it, oh well xD

I have started another thread about Engine performance issues if you have any feedback .

That would be very appreciated.

By the way, is there anyway to edit the thread title?

Yeah, sometimes threads just get forgotten because so many end up being posted. I'm subscribed to a million threads and once I get a reply, I get an email. That's usually the only way I can keep up with them all.
As for title editing, I think if you go to the original post, the area above the message box where it says title, you can edit the title there and it should change the name.
