The only time it really goes to the shop now is for tires and car inspections. If the CEL was on for what you got fixed, reset it and drive around for a bit. If it doesn't come back on, you should be good to go.

ya dude, i hear you and i agree. i have a hard time letting other people do things to it, unless i trust them. i now have a really great mechanic who is honest and helpful so worst comes to worst, I'll send her in for a little tune up. but i wanna know how to do this myself.
i sent her into midas for an alignment and they messed it up the first time, had to reschedule a few days later haha.

I tend to just pull the battery ground cable. If you have a scanner, there should be an option to clear the code. Alternately, I think you can pull the ECU fuse IIRC.

my dad has a scanner, so I'll just use it and make sure everything is all good.
=)
but its running perfectly now, the idle is back to normal.
just need to install a new grill, fix the wiring for the speakers, buy that cold air.
and then i think everything will be okay. i wanna upgrade a lot in this car though.

Just hope your low oil pressure did not damage anything internally... Get your CEL code read before you clear it..

Ya I'm really concerned, stressed about this. i really hope it didn't mess anything up, for what its worth i was driving with little to no oil pressure or oil at all for a couple days... I'll check the code and let you all know.
whatever it ends up being I'll have to tackle it head on.
one of my friends, was wondering why i had no oil to start, I'm concerned there's a leak or something, i haven't noticed anything though..

just finishing up my shift, i'll get the code tomorrow, cause my dad comes back from camping.
but ya have a good one! i'll let you know later today
