Manual Driver Side Lock has Ceased Working

Two days ago my driver side (manual) lock stopped working on my Honda 2005 Civic. Previously, there had been absolutely nothing wrong, then I put my key in and I have to force it in, but then it won't turn. It feels as if there's something in the way, so maybe a piece of plastic is stuck or broken. The key works in all the other locks, so I know it's not a problem with the key.

Does anyone know of any solutions/tutorials to change the lock? I've found several that are for powered locks, and I'm assuming a manual lock is easier to change, but I'd still like a walk-through so as not to botch it.

Re: Manual Driver Side Lock has Ceased Working

you need to change out the latch assembly in the door. same happened to me and a new one fixed it. its about the same work to change manual and power. remove door panel, remove a few screws and lockrods, take the old out and bolt the new in. you just need #2 in the pic. #6 is the power actuator that bolts to it.

Re: Manual Driver Side Lock has Ceased Working

I know old thread, but any updates or anyone else expierence this?

My keys seems to get stuck before ever fully getting into the lock. If I jiggle it and get it in enough it won't unlock. So I try multiple times before it goes in smoothly and it unlocks/locks just fine. Does this sound like it may be an issue with #27 instead of #2?
Would I need a new key for this?

Don't need a reply.
