When you hit your governor you'll know it. It feels like someone's yanking a chain attached to the rear of your car. I have yet to hit a governor in my 2K2. I used to bounce off the 120mph limiter on my 1999 DX all the time. First time I hit it I was freakin' out, "WTF WAS THAT?!"

It feels the same as when you hit the rev limiter.

Hey WD40... saw what the bastards did to your car... but didn't have an opportunity to read the story, which I'm curious what happened.

Cheers,

Well I know for sure that it will cost about 200 bucks to have your puter reprogrammed. If you cant find a loaner puter for your ride you can probably get away with it if you stay home for like 3 days if you dont have another ride. Many companies that reprogram them have overnight shipping included in with it. Way it works is when you buy the service, they ship you a box prepaid with shipping for overnight. So you mail the package in like on monday morning, they get it tuesday to work on and if all goes well you should have it in your hands by wednesday afternoon.

I dont push for speed on my car anymore. Having that governor kick in is just too freaky. I have enough fun taking off from zero like a bat outta hell! I enjoy hearing my CAI do its work.

I was told by an Import Shop owner here in town that the only way to bypass the speed limitation is by hard wiring an ECU controller in place. ($250.00) A performance chip from jet won't make the car go a high mph.
