i have a 2001 civic lx, auto, 4 door, and i need to replace the engine, i was wondering if there was someone local willing to help, i am in the northwest suburbs of chicago, i still need an engine, but if someone is wiling to do the work, i can provide the engine. any help and advice is appreciated, you can either reply here or send me a pm,

Guys Please i am looking for an engine for my car(01 Civic LX 4DR Auto). If anyone knows where i can get an engine for cheap or a good price please let me know. i am looking for a working engine ready to be installed. that has no damage and is in good-decent condition, mechanically and cosmetically. also anyone know or a place that can install for cheap or if anyone is willing to work on it and get paid(if they have installed engines before). Again any information or advice is really appreciated.

I think eBay would be your best bet, search for "D17A1".. unless you find someone parting out their car and willing to ship the 300 or so lbs of engine to Chicago..

thank you so much guys and i am trying both of those ideas. im just worried about getting a bad motor or over paying for a motor. i guess i have some what of an idea of what to expect, but there are some people out there that are just asking for too much or the motor for the miles n the age of the motor. ebay for example. oh and dont for get the ridiculous shipping costs. i checked out this site automotix.net real quick and they seem to have a pretty good handle on this used parts thing. if u guyz dont mind please take a look and let me know what you guyz think please. i would really appreciate it. and i will check out the site u mentioned as well. if u guys have an idea of what the labor cost of the swap will b please let me know. any estimates or guesstimates r really appreciated. and again thank u so much
