Engine Belt
Hi,
first of all i should say this I'm living in Netherlands and all auto's here have KM based system.
2 months ago I purchased 2003 Model Honda Civic EX. I love it
A few days ago Maint.Reqd light comes on and I went to a service (not honda), they are changed everything (oil, filter etc..).. I'm gonna reset this light myself cuz they have no idea how to reset it.
My question is, my auto is 7 years old and at 55.000 Milles, shall I change the Engine Belt because it's very important. The engineer said that per 6 year or per 100k you should change it, its better to contact Honda..
Please give me advices.
Thanks.

Re: Engine Belt
I just changed my timing belt. My 2001 EX has 126,000 miles and the belt looked almost new (no small cracks when turned and bent in opposite direction).
55,000 miles is not enough to warrant a new timing belt. Its only worth it if your going to do other work on the car in the same area (ex. water pump / headgasket)
