Sold my 2004 Civic Si and bought a 2010 Chevy Cobalt SS turbocharged 2.0L 260 HP
Brand Spankin NEW. GM was offering me better rates than Honda was. I test drove a 2010 Civic SI, liked it, but the numbers didn't work for me. With GM I'm getting the Cobalt for 19.5 - MSRP on it with freight etc is 29000.

huh? I sold my problem car (2004 Civic SI) the clutch was going on it, o2 sensors and tranny and I was getting CEL's. It had 126000 km on it... I traded it in a got the 2010 Cobalt ss turbocharged, red with obvisouly 0 kms on it. I got pretty good financing and managed to pay only 70/month more then I paying for my 04 civic...
Re: Sold my 2004 Honda civic si and bought...
Sorry to say the cobalt is a problem car. The power steering goes out, the leather is cut short and crooked from the factory, etc.. fast, cheap, reliable, pick 2.
I don't know how much you sold your Si for, but a Cobalt SS with around 50k miles is around $8-9k here. Why would you buy one of the fastest depreciating cars as new?
Don't wanna rain on your parade though, enjoy the new car. It is gutsy, I'll give it that.

Re: Sold my 2004 Honda civic si and bought...
I mad my post yesterday, that I bought/got the car because I put a 1k down payment on it and the dealership in Vancouver (Dueck) said to me that it was mine.
I get a call at 11:00 am this morning from the sales guy I was dealing with Jacque. He informs me the vehicle was already sold to someone else and there are NO MORE available. I'm dead serious. NO MORE IN CANADA. So I tell him I'm not happy, that I don't want anything else.
I call GM Canada and place a complaint. I feel ripped off and pissed off about this. After being told by the "Business Manager" Joe that it was MY car.
I even clarified with him that it was mine, and it wasn't sold and he'd put it on hold for me. He said yes.
GM Canada tells me they will get back to me in a week and see what they can do for me. I hope they can pull one out of their asses or something... For that price I'm very pissed I can't get one.
I also spoke with a lawyer about it (Consumer Protection). I don't think what they did was completely illegal.... but it isn't good customer service.
I obvisouly will get my 1k down payment back... I hope/think...
I called the sales guy back this afternoon and told him how unimpressed I was and that I wanted a similar car for a similar price. He mentioned the camaro.
I've given the Camaro some though and I don't think I'll jump on it, only because its rwd. I plan on doing a lot of commuting from Vancouver to Calgary over the winter (to work on the rigs) and I don't think a muscle car is the best option in any way. Even though a 2011 camaro for 22k would be nice.
Anyways that's what's going on... I think I'll wait and see what GM Canada has to say. If nothing else I'll place another complaint until I get my ****ing 2010 cobalt ss/tc
My other option is to go through a bank and buy a slightly used one, there are some for sale.... or skip buying the new car and put 2k into my 04 Civic Si to make him good again..
The tranny/clutch need to be redone... prolly a 2-3k job i figure...

Re: Sold my 2004 Honda civic si and bought...
Hi Everyone, I am new here and have a few questions. I have a 2000 Honda civic cpr EX and my cd player stopped working. This happ back in Feb and it reads E-00 or E-01, and spits out the cd. Does anyone know what could be wrong with this or if it may be able to be fixed?
Also is there a AUX port in the 2000 Civic's? I am looking to plug an mp3 player into it to play through my radio.
Thanks

There is a 5 digit code you need to type in. I'm pretty sure youre cd player is locked. Happend to me not too long ago when changing my batt. Your code should be on a little sticky thing, maybe in the owners manual (where i found mine). Or you can also call/talk to a honda dealer, they may beable to help. But yeah have a look for the 5 digit code...
As for the aux I have no idea, do a search on google and these forums about that. I've just ran with a transmitter in my car, get one at cdn tire for 30 bux.

Camden, I think we can call this divine intervention. I would drop the cobalt idea altogether.
I mean, if you are going to spend that much money on a car, why not get a used BMW 330i or something of that nature?
