Help!!! I can't figure out what is wrong
Hi there I am so lost on trying to figure out what is wrong with my car.
I have a 2003 EX Honda Civic with about 120,000 miles on it. Now for the big problem.
My car engine light came on which I then had that checked four codes were thrown at me. 1. was the throttle sensor 2. the cam shaft sensor 3&4 were the O2 sensors (the updraft and the downdraft) I replace the throttle body with the sensor put on a new cam shaft sensor and replaced the downdraft O2 sensor. I was then on my way to the auto store to buy the last one but I wanted to make sure no more problems they redid the codes and this time no O2 sensor code but it came up catalytic converter threshold low. So I just ordered a new catalytic converter the other day. When I noticed my engine light went off but it doesn't end there now the car won't go over 50 mph it can rev pretty high going from 30/40 to 50 so sometimes I let off the gas and it will kick in then I noticed today when I would go up hill or start to go from a red light the car felt like was was breaking and go at the same time it felt heavy and once it kicked in to first gear it was okay and on top of all this when the a/c is on is when it does this when the a/c is off the car runs just fine. I am so frustrated with all this and don't know what is wrong I keep putting new parts on it hopeing it is fixing it but it seems to get worst. Please help me figure this out so I can fix it asap.

Re: Help!!! I can't figure out what is wrong
You sure your bogging or loading problem is because the AC compressor has gone bad? Just a thought. Since you say all the problems happen when the AC is ON?
AC compressor will auto shut off if it is low on refridgerant or gets hot. It has a thermal overload switch on it. So may be the shaft bearing on AC compressor is bad.
So everytime your car feels like struggling, breaking that is when probably your AC compressor has kicked in, causing more load on the engine than necessary.
It is just a thought, I am not sure how you can really check to see if AC bearing is good but try these steps they may work to rule out AC compressor.
1). Remove AC compressor belt
2). Turn engine on & AC on high
3). Now try and turn the compressor by hand and notice for roughness
My self I have not tried it so can not guranatee if this method works, cause it is a compressor and you will also be compressing the refridgerent. But something you can check by yourself before you dump more money replacing stuff.
