01 SI, Tranny swap with base model.
Need a tranny for my 01 SI.
From scrap yards, tranny for a base model are cheaper and easy to find than VTEC, Canada mkt, (SI). Whats the difference?
M.T., (1.7L, SOHC), base
M.T., (1.7L, SOHC), VTEC, U.S. mkt, HX
M.T., (1.7L, SOHC), VTEC, Canada mkt, (SI)
M.T., (1.7L, SOHC), VTEC, U.S. mkt, EX

Re: 01 SI, Tranny swap with base model.
EX (Si in Canada) have shorter gear ratios, meaning runs higher RPM - I believe that was it, never had other models with MT. might require more work to swap? not sure
Re: 01 SI, Tranny swap with base model.
I don't mind if the gearings a little shorter, If thats the only difference. Can anyone confirm?
