Electrical problem fixed, but headlights still not working

My hood rod made its way into the engine compartment and made contact with the positive terminal of my battery. Everything in my car started going crazy, and i soon lost power. The battery was melted. I bought a new battery and still nothing. I then found the master 80v fuse was blown. so i replaced that and bingo, the car started. butttt, the headlights still dont work. the running lights do. Everything works on the car but the headlights. Any ideas???

thanks

Did you dummy check the bulbs? You may have just blown the low beam filaments.

Yea it's come down to three has it. There are a few others that come on here every once in a while. Even the noob numbers have come down significantly. Haven't had a "My Car Idles Like Crap Why" thread for at least two or three days!

I hope mine doesn't start... I'm way too lazy to fix something like that.

But you're stock except a little bit of sound system-ness..

My car isn't.. and was turbo'd for 1½ years.

Ahh yes, the good ol' turbo... Mine destroyed a head gasket at 80k (partially my fault, I think)... I've never been so mad... haha, otherwise it's been a solid car... I only commute to work in it basically, never drive it otherwise.. no need for speed in that baby.. besides, when my Vtakk spontaneously combusts, nobody is keepin' up.

yup.. had a crappy tune from a "good" shop in WA.. Had to take it off because my car started crying. Plus I needed to drive my car back to Vegas and get it smogged and whatnot for vehicle registration.

Re: Electrical problem fixed, but headlights still not working

eh. My cat's not happy, except for pre-mature wear and my tranny crying (even after it was "rebuilt"), nothing else major.. Gas mileage still averages 33mpg and it's a reliable DD, so I'm content. I do, however, have a spare engine with (I was told) <1000 miles on it sitting in my back yard, but I wanna find a new tranny to put on it before I swap.

Re: Electrical problem fixed, but headlights still not working

Swaps are good, especially for that kind of mileage. I always keep an eye open for K swaps but I know I'm dreaming. I don't have the time to put one of those in... I can't get this two month old back to bed I wanna go to sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

He generally sleeps pretty good. Some idiot is typing on a keyboard while rocking him to sleep... This monitor is huge and bright too, which does not help... I'm practically shooting myself in the foot as we speak hahaha... Civicforums is more important though, know what I mean? lol. Even with two people on it, see how many times I can read the same threads, and read more about the Edge I just bought and make myself feel worse for buying it LOL.

Re: Electrical problem fixed, but headlights still not working

pull the bulb out and see if both filaments are in tact. There's a separate filament for both the high beam and low beam.

Either that or spend a few bucks on some new bulbs and see if that fixes your problem.

Re: Electrical problem fixed, but headlights still not working

ever since the original owner sold the site and it became a general honda civic forum instead of a 7thgencivic forum.. (OG name: 7thgencivic.com, type it in and it redirects to CF)

Makes us OG people sad pandas..

I didn't think of the headlight switch recall because I forgot about it and never had a problem with mine.. that I know of.. I was without my car for about 4 months through boot camp and my first school in the navy
