Changing out the struts, can't get the spindle back up???? see pics
Hello all,
I am in the process of replacing my worn out shocks/struts with new kyb replacements... I budgeted 8 hours, but as usual it will probably take more... On the drivers side, I have replaced the strut and mounted it back up to the top of the wheelhousing, but I cannot for the life of me get the spindle back in place to bolt it to the strut. It seems to want to face down, and no amount of force will make it budge... I'm at my wits end, and on my first drink (which I promised myself I wouldn't do until I had one done...)
Does anyone have any thoughts/insight?
Thanks,
Doon

disconnect the ball joint on the lower control arm using a ball joint tool (loan one from a autozone or similar). then bolt knuckle to struts and then install the ball joint back.

The dude at Checkauto said the CV joint had 'relaxed' and had popped out of alignment. He said I should be able to realign it without disconnecting the lower ball joint.. I've played around with this for hours and my hands are now toast. Is removing the lower ball joint the only way???
