Ignition Switch DIY?
Ignition Switch DIY?
Recently I have been told my ignition switch needs to be replaced. Is this something that a novice could do with a manual and an afternoon or should I pay somebody more experienced to do it for me. To give you an idea of my knowledge level, I am able to do routine maintenance stuff like oil change, brakes, fuel filter etc. I would like to save the money and do it myself but don't want to get in over my head.
Re: Ignition Switch DIY?
well I don't think it's that hard. When I installed a push button ignition on my supra all I had to do was pull off the panels on the steering column and then after I had access to the barrel there was only one screw holding mine on. Then you unclip it from the wiring harness and pull the ignition barrel off. After that just throw that in your pill of broken **** and put the new one on. The hardest part is getting the panels off with out the clips breaking and then getting the screw off that holds it in place. HOWEVER this is how I did it in my 19 year old supra so things have changed. Hopefully you can get it though. Please add on to this if y ou know more about it on honda's...
