2001 Honda Civic LX problems

what up,

i recently purchased an 01' civic and it worked fine, however lately ive been starting to notice some problems with it. the first and foremost is, SOMETIMES when i stop and i have my foot on the brake the front of my car (engine, dashboard etc) vibrates, and this is only when the car is in drive (if i switch it to neutral, park etc the sound stops). i thought it might be the engine mount, but i was advised that it could also be my brakes acting up.

as well, sometimes when im driving the back window of the car vibrates slightly, even on smooth roads. its an annoying noise.

i thought it might be my transmission but a mechanic checked it out not a month ago and he said its fine

any tips?

I'd say motor mount, or loose hood. Giggle the hood- is there any play? Inspect all motor mounts for any cracks or tears.
As for the back window.. I think your rear panel, headliner, or one of your rear pillars is loose. Throw your head back there and see what you can come up with. Have a friend drive if you need too.

I moved the engine a bit and it does move slightly. I don't think the hood is loose, even though when I apply weight and pressure to the top of the hood the vibration stops perhaps its a combination of both

As far as the rear window I havent checked it out yet. What exactly would I be looking for and where? (sorry I'm not educated with cars at ALL lol)

Respect,

If your applying pressure and the sound stop.. its probably your hood latch. Apply slight amounts of pressure across the hood to figure out where exactly its coming from.

As for the rear... your basically just going to have your friend drive while your in the back seat and poking your head around trying to hear where the sound originates. Then push down on whatever panel you think it is, just like with the hood, to figure out where its coming from. When owners bring cars back to the dealer because something is ratteling, they usually just stuff some foam behind whatever is making noise in the interior and it stops. I've done it, it works.

props my man, ill give it a shot
for the dashboard rattling, if the hood latch isnt the issue what else do u think it could be? the engine mount perhaps? (the rattling happens indiscriminately, and only when i stop or the car is idle, leading me to believe maybe the force from the car stopping is moving the engine or something else, and causing the rattling)
