CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HELP!!!!
Hey guys, I've had my 2001 DX for about 6 months and put about 5K on it, and the check engine light is already on! Anyway, I checked my gas cap and reset my ECU, but 2 days later it's on again. So I was looking at my intake (injen SRI), and the silicone tube that runs over the intake has a hole in it(small). Apparently, it looks like it was burnt because it lays over the intake. So here are the questions. Could this little vacuum hose cause the light to come on? And secondly, if I do keep driving the car, if this is not the problem, will I damage my motor? If it isn't the hose I've searched and found out about some emissions valve problem, but is there anything else I should know about?

Yes the vacuum hose could cause the ECM to pop a code if the hose is pinched or leaking. Fix the problem, but if the light comes back on take it to a shop ASAP. You can't really tell if any damage will come to your car, it might or might not, but IMO I'd take it to the shop right away. Just my 2¢
