Hi i just installed a weapon short ram and i was wondering if anyone else heard a rattling sound around 2500-3000 revs. I heard the sound with my stock airbox in but im not sure where it was coming from and it wasnt as loud before the SRI. I dont know if its from the intake or the engine.

yeah i get it too, sounds like it comes from the engine itself. not as noticable from inside the car. i think its just engine vibration and maybe a loose heat shield. the stock airboxes prolly covered up the noise more. with a small intake pipe, you can hear the engine more than before.

I heard a similar noise coming from under neath the car. I would only hear it at certain RPM's like you say. I put my car on ramps and noticed that the heat shield on my cat was the culprit. The only way for me to fix it was to bend the metal back so I wouldn't get metal on metal contact or replace the cat. I decided since the cat isnt bad do just bend the heat shield and it worked.

i took off my exhaust pipe heatshield but didnt think to check the cat shield. i need to get under and look. does the shield rattle against the exhaust or the car?

The shield rattled against the cat. I just pried the part that was loose away from the cat.
