Squealing from fan

I own a 2005 Civic Si with about 87,000 km's on it and after a while, I hear a squealing noise. When I turn the fan off, the squealing stops, turn the fan on and it starts up again. What would be causing this?

Re: Squealing from fan

Could be a noisy bushing or bearing in the blower motor, you may be able to lube it to quiet.

Debris has gotten into area and is making noise when fan on.

are you sure its the fan? or are you turning the a/c on and just guessing its the fan making noise when it could be the a/c belt.

It was definitely not the a/c belt. I had the heat on. It was about 6 degrees celcius so the a/c was not required.
