Re: IDLE problems!!

rpm jumping around usually results from bad tps (throttle position sensor) on the throttle body. usually the whole throttle body needs to be replaced.

Re: IDLE problems!!

no it may not be the throttle body last summer my brother was looking to buy an accord but it have that problem my dad found a wire in the trunk under the spare tire and it was grounding on the frame he removed it and the idleing problem stopped. he put the wire back and the rpms kept jumping again and to try and lower the price. my brother didnt buy that car cause the next day he found a nicce 1997 prelude for the same price that was a no brainer. hope this helps

Re: IDLE problems!!

Could also be a vac leak.

Re: IDLE problems!!

Sounds like a vac leak to me. But if you have messed with your idle air control screw it can jump until you reset your ecu. Or if you have put in a new aftermarket intake.

Re: IDLE problems!!

does it rev up then drop then rev? if so it is the sensor on the trottle body. my cousin had a h22 in his 95 civic and my friend had a prelude that did it too. unplug the sensor while the car is running if it runs normal then you need to change the sensor.hit me back and let me know if you fixed it.

Re: IDLE problems!!

Worst case ....it could be a blown plenum gasket....but this would only happen if you recently overheated your engine...then you most likely have more issues to go along with that.
