I Wan't a new Car
I have a 97 Civic LX Auto non-vtec 4door....no sunroof or spoiler. I absolutly hate driving it. It's slow, I have to push the gas to the floor half the time to make it upshift for a hill. I have been planning on buying my friends 99 Honda accord coupe v6 for a long time but it seems he is really gonna keep it instead. It has to be 5k or under because I gotta break even on this. I honestly would like to find a 99 SI but im not sure. All I know is that if I am going to have to keep my car I wan't to at least trade it in for like a 98 ex coupe 5speed. Any suggestions on what to do here?

Well a civic really isn't going to fix that problem for me in the $5k range. I don't like the idea of any other car than a honda when having to choose a older car.

Re: I Wan't a new Car
Im kinda torn, I found a good 02 Civic EX coupe 5speed in my area in the price range...but I still think I want to find a 99ish Accord coupe v6. Would the fun of the 5speed be a better choice or would the lack of power still not make it up?
Re: I Wan't a new Car
You want a new car??? dont we all... when i got some work done at the honda dealer on my 02 Civic EX coupe... i was walking around and saw some 271 hp brand spanking new, Honda Accord coupes... NICE!... Car and driver or motor trend said these cars were absolute sleepers... they are rockets, and Honda reliability to boot

Re: I Wan't a new Car
Well your right we can't all have what we want so I guess ill have to deal without the power.
I found a 02 Civic EX Coupe Black 109kmiles 5speed with Spoiler and Black Rims for $6k.
I am just about 100% sure I can talk it to 5k because its got a reconditionded title from rear end damage in the past.
Any suggestions? This sound like a good car?

Re: I Wan't a new Car
Don't add power your civic. Get an SI model instead, it will be cheaper in the long run. Keep your car tuned up and clean out the throttle with throttle cleaner- you'll notice a nice difference. Honda's hold their value. The SI for 5k might have higher miles so you might have to do some serious searching to find what you want. Might be a plane ride away. It depends on your committment to find it.

Re: I Wan't a new Car
Update: The civic was a POS, I walked away without even starting it up. Although I really liked the civic having got up close to one like that now and what happens....I find a 2000 Honda Accord 5speed 4cyl. Now I am really confused I think the civics look better but I know the accord will handle and drive better. Any thoughts?

Re: I Wan't a new Car
Ok I just can't find a decent civic. The one I went and tested today was a 2002 Honda Civic EX coupe 5speed. Id say condition wise it was a 9 out of 10. Price was $5500....and 170k miles~!? Is is me or is that crazy?
