oil filter
so i think i might be having trouble with my (2002 civic coupe) oil filter comming loose.
last time just before i went for an oil change, i was noticing oil drips on my driveway (but of course i blamed it on my dads truck). then after i got my oil change done, the mech told me that my oil filter was barely hand tight on.
then just earlire today, my dad got home from being 7 or so hours away (let him use my civic because it'll be a lot better on gas then a hemi ram) and he told me that he had to add 2 quarts of oil.
struck me of a little odd because the oil change was done 4 or so months ago. I just haven't had time to get under to see if the filters looase again, but if it is, is there any thing to help prevent this? i wa thinking thread lock, but not on an oil filter.
any suggestions? this a common issue?

Re: oil filter
well, im not sure thats the problem. but the filter is supposed to be on hand tight. are you sure the leak is coming from the filter? or is it somewhere else.
Re: oil filter
Are you sure its a leak? Unless there is noticeable stains in the driver I doubt it. You could just be burning oil. Do you drive lots? If you put on more then 3k miles in the time you should just be changing your oil more. Otherwise your motor burns oil. If thats the case I would recomend to start using high mileage oil.
