Leaking oil already in a 2005 Civic?

I started seeing oil stains on my driveway about two weeks ago, first I thought that someone who just rust-proofed his car used my driveway to turn around and left some spots. However, more stains are showing up and they *are* coming from my Civic. What could it be? FYI, I know next to nothing about mechanics but I figured that my Civic is too new to start leaking already. Any ideas?

it could just be your oil pan bolt to drain your oil or your oil filter could be loose but idk

Recall your last oil change- did you do it or did you take it somewhere? Check you have the right filter on there- shops dont always grab the right one off the shelf when they change your oil- and it can leak. Also, your drain bolt washer is probably cracked or missing- check the torque on the drain bolt itself too. The threads can get stretched out after repeated tightening/loosening along with the heated oil. If its none of these you might have a crack in your oil pan from hitting something.

Re: Leaking oil already in a 2005 Civic?

My 05 had a leaking oil pan gasket at 22k miles.

I noticed the the oil on the drivers side pan and thought at first it was the front seal.

Be sure to check the easy stuff first, and maybe clean it up and drive it a while to make it easy to spot source.

just look under the car. if you cant tell, clean all the oil up and watch where it starts. could be drain bolt, the bolt washer, oil pan gasket, etc.
