Couple quick questions from a new guy...
Couple quick questions from a new guy...
Hey everyone, my first post. Couple of quick questions.
1. What are some good forums other then this one for good information from Honda Gear heads?
2. I drive a GTi now, 2008 MkV. I enjoy it, but it's hard to work on them, and seeing as how its a new car, I don't feel like wrecking the DD.
I wan't to get a Honda I can work on. Something with a good solid body that I can drop an engine in, gut out, and get some good power out of. I always hear how Honda's can have a b15c (Im assuming an engine type) with a turbo run 12's all day.
I'd like to start working on a Civic, but what year and engine is the best combo for them? I know this question has been posted before, but when I searched, it never popped for me. I could have typed in the wrong info.
I have worked on Chevys, VW's, and my Dodge SRT-4, but I think its time for some japanese fun.
Thanks in advance fellas.

Re: Couple quick questions from a new guy...
The B series motors can get some crazy power and there is lots of support. The H22 from the prelude is also got some ***** and has strong after market support.
The k20 motor is a 2.0L K series motor. They are the new B series motors. They can handle a buncha power too.
B series motors are old. Thats a fact. Pushing a 16 yr old motor to 9grand under 30psi all day is going to **** up and break eventually, no matter who makes it. A K20 or K24 (2.4L K series motor) are being put in hondas and acuras these days- rsx, accord, si, tsx, crv, mdx, etc.
The older the **** is (b series), the cheaper it is tho. And consequently, the newer the stuff is, the more expensive it is (K series)

Let's put this hypothetically. I have decided that I am looking for a 92-95 EG hatch shell. What engine, turbo, internals, upgrades would you guys do if you had 7k to spend on the parts, and 2k on labor you can't do yourself. (I don't have the hardware to drop an engine in myself.)
And lets say I go with a crate engine, new.
