Problems with trunk latch
Anyone else experiencing problems with the trunk/gas latch. My first problem was when I went to close my trunk, it freakin' bashed into the closure and popped back up(I was pissed!). Come to find out, the latch sticks in the upright position when i open it, so now i have to remember to push it back down. Second problem was when I went to open my gas lid, it was stuck. With my new car, I had to ask someone to hold the latch in the pushed position while I pried the lid open. Now my Final problem is the whole latch itself. I locked my trunk while on spring break, and it won't come unlocked, WHAT'S UP WITH THAT??!!?? Any help would be appreciated.
ya my car had the same problem, just take it too the dealership, they'll take care of it under warenty. just make sure you trust the dealership, when i did this, I got the car back and my trunk was aerodynamically altered, they had placed a NICE dent on my trunk lid

Yeah. Problem initially with fuel door, then intermittent trunk latch. Problem with fuel door was discovered and circumvented during 8000 km road trip by opening trunk, pushing aside driver's side trunk liner and physically removing latch mechanism from body (and replacing when fueling complete . . .what a pain-in-the-*** that was). Honda indicates faulty cable . . . . no cables available anywhere in Canada and no delivery dates available . . . . suggested 1 to 2 months, perhaps longer. If I'm correct, I believe they manufacture Civic sedans in Ontario.

Yup, I've had the trunk won't close problem. I'll let it fall with some force and it bounces. Then I'll just put it down and push slightly and it closes. Go figure. A little love goes a long way sometimes.
