Problems with trunk latch

Anyone else experiencing problems with the trunk/gas latch. My first problem was when I went to close my trunk, it freakin' bashed into the closure and popped back up(I was pissed!). Come to find out, the latch sticks in the upright position when i open it, so now i have to remember to push it back down. Second problem was when I went to open my gas lid, it was stuck. With my new car, I had to ask someone to hold the latch in the pushed position while I pried the lid open. Now my Final problem is the whole latch itself. I locked my trunk while on spring break, and it won't come unlocked, WHAT'S UP WITH THAT??!!?? Any help would be appreciated.

ya my car had the same problem, just take it too the dealership, they'll take care of it under warenty. just make sure you trust the dealership, when i did this, I got the car back and my trunk was aerodynamically altered, they had placed a NICE dent on my trunk lid

Yeah. Problem initially with fuel door, then intermittent trunk latch. Problem with fuel door was discovered and circumvented during 8000 km road trip by opening trunk, pushing aside driver's side trunk liner and physically removing latch mechanism from body (and replacing when fueling complete . . .what a pain-in-the-*** that was). Honda indicates faulty cable . . . . no cables available anywhere in Canada and no delivery dates available . . . . suggested 1 to 2 months, perhaps longer. If I'm correct, I believe they manufacture Civic sedans in Ontario.

my problem wasn't that my trunk wouldn't stay closed it was the fact the my lever inside the car wouldn't move to open the trunk from inside the car....

Why do people abuse their cars!! HAHAHA j/k
Ever since i got this car. i let the trunk rest in the down positions and just push it slightly and it latches...same with doors and hood... i biotch at ppl who slam any of these on my car... well biotch at my guy friemds, actually with girls (you know how most are) i just hold it in and hope they realize one day that you dun gotta be as strong as the hulk to close a simple door/trunk

Yup, I've had the trunk won't close problem. I'll let it fall with some force and it bounces. Then I'll just put it down and push slightly and it closes. Go figure. A little love goes a long way sometimes.
