i just joined the forums (like 2 minutes ago) and i only got a civic 4 days ago. i needed something good on gas and reliable. i'll probably do a couple things here and there to it, but nothing crazy. i already have a car for that. only thing i'm confused about is what motor is in my car. i know it's a 1.7 and it's a vin code 5. is that vtec, or non-vtec? all-data says it's not vtec and when i called autozone to get a price on a part and they said they only listed a vtec engine on the car. thanks. btw, it's a 2002 civic lx coupe, 5spd.

hey bro to answer your question, only the ex has a vtec motor so whatever they told you at autozone is probably crap. hope that helps. if u wanted to you could make it vtec and its pretty cheap too.

yep - dx/lx doesnt have vtec, ex does.. simple as that.
