Cant Read Codes - Odd Problem
Just some normal driving when the car when into limp, 01 coupe auto EX, so you start it it idles for a second w/ battery light on, u hear the pgm-1 relay click off, then the CEL comes on, does this about 12 times then, CEL stays on, car in limp, and no tach and coolant gauge shoots up and down (on/off)
SRS light is on but I think it's from the D/S seat belt holder is broken, so you really gotta hit it to get it in there.
Any ideas?
Oh and I CAN'T read codes, it wont establish a link. THANKS!

ok I think it's related to the multiplex system, after the key is in for about 10-12 seconds the shift lock lifts as if your holding the break, and the gauge cluster gets an error

Re: Cant Read Codes - Odd Problem
I've been trying to find a new ecu, but nothing yet, (Im not sure compatability so Im just looking for the exact part #)
I just talked to someone who had the same problem and he changed his ecu but still has problems? Has anyone ever had this problem before?

Re: Cant Read Codes - Odd Problem
your problem would be the ecu. just bring your spare ecu to the dealer and have it programmed to your immobilizer. mine couldn't read codes either so the ecu is what i changed(old problem). now i have other electrical problems which i think would be the multiplex unit(new problem for 2 years). i'm having a hard time catching you on AIM. can you please email me about the multiplex unit?

if it's not the ecu i got a body computer that is on the back of the dash fuse box.
also there is a empty plug on the front of the dash fuse box. i forgot the sequence but u can short that out and get body (multiplex) codes though the dome light.
on the service manual u download it's on page 22-273.

Re: Cant Read Codes - Odd Problem
I actually own a service manual, I'll have to check on that thanks!
The only reason I think it is the ECU is because it isn't letting me read the codes, I really hope this is it, and I can be done with it.

Re: Cant Read Codes - Odd Problem
forgot to mention that the computer in the fuse box is forsale. it's only the computer as the fuse box it's self was half destroyed.
the empty plug is next to the yellow fake SRS plug that used to erase the memmory.
also some of those multiplex wires go to the ecu and the DLC( where u plug in the reader) so if that network is messed up it could keep u form reading codes too.
if your check engine light is on u can check codes the OBD 1 way. find pins 4 and 9 brwn/yel and brwn respectivly. short them together and turn on the ignition. the check engine light, airbag light, and ABS light (if it's a EX) will flash any codes stored. not evrey code will show up this way but it's a good backup and gives u a place to start.
