Accelerator /Gas pedal issue

I have a bit of a problem with my cars gaspedal/accelerator, Its "sticky". When I push down, I get some resistance, whilst not really getting any acceleration, then It'll suddenly give, and I find myself catapulting. Very entertaining, if not a little dangerous. Is the throttle mechanism fairly easy to replace?

Re: Accelerator /Gas pedal issue

Throttle body is full of gunk.......you will need to remove the stock air box system, get your carb cleaner out, & go to town on the butterfly valve.....I would take the entire throttle body off, remove all sensors, & give it a full debriefing

100% sure that it your problem......I get this complaint probably twice a week at work. Either that or the throttle bracket nut is loose & the cable is slacked....which I doubt!

I can shoot you the honda instructions tomorrow at work if you like...

Disconnect the connector from the IAT sensor (A).

Remove the bolts (B).

Loosen the screw (C).

Remove the air cleaner (D).

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Then either remove the throttle body or leave it on & clean (this will work aswell)

or here is the picture for the throttle body R&R:

take off the idle air control valve on the side of the TB too while youre at it. its the lil sensor on the side that the two coolant hoses go into.
