Weird issue with left brake light
Weird issue with left brake light
Hello everyone I was wondering if anyone else had this issue. When I have my headlights turned off my left brake light will not work, but with my headlights turned on they do. And when I lock/unlock my car with the remote control, the brake lights do that flash and work, yet my headlights are turned off. So it seems like only when I am driving with my headlights off is when the left brake light will not work. Any help would be great.
Re: Weird issue with left brake light
what year is it? HB or sedan/coupe? With the flash, technically it is the turn signal that flashes, not the brake light. Did you check the bulb to see if a filament is burnt out?

Those are the tail lamps, There are 2 filaments in that bulb. (brake and tail)
The tail/parking lamps are the ones that flash with remote.

It is a 2004 Honda Civic EX Sedan with auto tranny. I realized that it is the turn signals that flash when I lock/unlock. The weird thing is that the brake lights work when I turn on my headlights. Its just when they are off only my right brake light works.

Check the bulb, Check the socket for corroded or bent metal tabs that contact bulbs connections. Check the ground for the affected socket.
