HELP with ECU/ECM Part Number

After spending hour after hour trying to figure it out, i still have nothing.

I am doing a AT --> MT swap in my 2001 EX and am looking for a MT, VTEC ECU/ECM.

After going through most of the the OEM honda websites i found on google i still haven't been able to figure out which part number i actually need. Most of the sites have 37820-PLR-A01 as the part number listed that i need (MT)

Apparently the AT VTEC ECU for a 2001 is number 37820-PLR-A51.

I tried looking on ebay and have seen everything in between but never either one of those numbers. I don't have a parts catalog to reference to. I've seen: 37820-PLR-L05, and that guy said it was pulled from an 02 EX MT, which was the closest thing i could find. Even though thats not the A01 that i've seen on most sites, does anyone think it might be compatible? Does anyone know what these numbers mean at all?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Im going to go insane

Re: HELP with ECU/ECM Part Number

go to http://www.car-part.com and search for a ecu there it is a listing on all the salvage yards in the US and some in other countries good place and the imprtant thing with an ecu is that its the same year, trim, and transmission (so 01, EX, MT) as the car its going in to. but you also have to get the thing reflashed and have the immobilizer codes put back on. and when all else fails just take the one out of your car and the p/n is located on the side that is against the firewall

Re: HELP with ECU/ECM Part Number

I have a 2002 Civic EX with Manual Transmission.
It was equipped with an ECU p/n 37820-PLR-L04, but when that ECU went bad, I was given a replacement unit with p/n PLR-L05.

So it seems that there could be two part numbers for the M/T 2002 EX.

I called my local dealer parts department and they were very helpful in describing the p/n for this vehicle.

There are California part numbers as well... my car was a 49 state model.

News: the dealer says if he order a "new" replacement for my 2002-EX-M/T it would be the below part number.
I think the "new" replacement part may have updates and improvements over the PLR-L04/L05 series.

"Replaced by: 37820-PLR-417 "
