2006 Civic LX Blower Fan Motor
Hello everyone!
My wife's 2006 (that used to be mine) has a AC blower motor that is making a funny noise. It clicks when it spins, the clicking gets faster as the fan speed is turned up.
I took it apart today, as far as I could and there is nothing stuck in the blades or anything. Spinning the motor by hand reproduces the sound (albeit it much quieter and less frequent than when it is running off electricity)
So I'm gonna let it run for now, but was thinking about replacing it in the near future.
Here comes the issue, Honda's e-store tells me I can get the part for around $127 (or at least, that's the retail price)
Amazon.com sells it for $170
But RockAuto and other websites sell replacement motors that are only around $40...
What do you guys think, $40 is VERY cheap compared to the original part, but how long will it last?
Worth a shot? Guess if it lasts even 1/3rd the time of the stock motor then it will be worth it, the part itself is INCREDIBLY easy to replace...
(In case anyone is interested, the honda part number I'm after is 79310-SNA-A02 )
Thanks for any/all input.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Ho-lee kow that's amazing.
This poster seems to like the $80 timing kit (with water pump) that might have been knitted from an old sock:
My reply was "Caveat Emptor."
